Overview
The Freedom of Information (FoI) Act 2000 came into full effect in the UK on 1st January 2005 from which date all
Public Sector bodies are legally compelled to comply with its stringent regulations: any information held by public
bodies, with some specified exclusions, must be made available on appropriate application.
This Act imposes specific requirements:
- Requests must be processed in thirty days
- All relevant information must be identified to ensure appropriate disclosure and charging
- Effective records of the entire process and its actions have to be established and maintained
- The ability to demonstrate compliance with the new legislation
Whilst every public body has the same generic requirements for a solution to automate and manage FoI requests
Azolve is aware that each implementation will vary due to a number of potential factors, most specifically those
concerning internal practices and IT infrastructures, and the architecture of our software enables us to tailor
solutions to suit specific requirements.
Azolve’s FoI solution provides all the necessary functionality to process, manage and report on all requests for
information whilst ensuring compliancy with the Freedom of Information Act. Azolve solutions are web architected which
eases integration into existing practices, increases flexibility of access and promotes rapid adoption through browser
familiarity.
Automated outbound correspondence management
Azolve can manage the triggering of outbound letters, forms and documents. Templated documents are prepared and the
system will insert data accordingly to personalise the correspondence. The type of documents and the timings are
managed through the workflow. A complete audit of all correspondence is available.
